Glissade, a Bridges Point 24 that is being stored at HYS this winter and regular around the Boatyard has received new Awlgrip paint. The color turned out beautifully, despite Claret being one of the most challenging colors to apply. A new system utilizing Awlcraft and a special new reducer was used. This allows the evaporation rate to be so fast that the paint can be applied to full flow rather than three or four passes. Six mils were applied, which provides remarkable depth of the finish.
The method was learned during an Awlgrip training course in Florida. The same system will be used on other projects around the Boatyard.
